The Braun Series 9 Pro+ has been one of the most recommended foil shavers on the market for years, and for good reason. It delivers a very close shave, handles multiple days of growth well, and has built a strong reputation among daily shavers.
Then Laifen P3 Pro entered the market and made things far more interesting.
It costs significantly less, features a premium aluminum body, charges via USB-C, and on paper actually brings some impressive hardware to the table with a dual motor system that reaches 12,000 CPM.
That’s what made this comparison more interesting than I expected.
Most people automatically assume Braun dominates simply because it’s the bigger name, but shaving performance is about far more than raw motor numbers.
Foil design, blade efficiency, comfort, and how a razor handles difficult areas like your neck often matter far more in real-world use.
After testing both razors, I found Braun still performs better in a few key areas, but Laifen was far more competitive than I expected.
For many daily shavers, the decision may come down to whether Braun’s extra performance is worth spending significantly more money.

My pick: Laifen wins on portability, design, and value. Braun still wins on pure shaving performance for tougher growth.

If you only compare specifications, Laifen P3 Pro becomes very compelling.
You’re getting:
That’s why many buyers are starting to notice it. Plus, it looks really freaking cool!
This is where real-world testing matters.
Even though Laifen has stronger advertised motor specs, Braun Series 9 Pro+ still handled my thicker neck growth slightly better during testing.
Braun felt more efficient when shaving longer stubble and required fewer passes in tougher areas.
That doesn’t mean Laifen struggled.
For daily shaving and shorter stubble, Laifen performed extremely well.
The gap became more noticeable when growth got longer and denser.
This is where Laifen P3 Pro clearly wins.
Its compact design is easier to pack and USB-C charging makes travel far more convenient.
You can use the same cable you already carry for your other devices.
Meanwhile, Braun is still making you pack a proprietary charger, which forces consumers to buy their expensive chargers. So yeah, you’ll be leaving the Braun and its bougie charger at home.
Both razors perform well here. I was surprised by how gentle Laifen P3 Pro felt during dry shaving. It produced minimal irritation during testing and felt very comfortable for frequent use.
Braun is still excellent here, but Laifen performs better than many buyers would expect.
This is the biggest question buyers should ask. Yes, Braun still performs better for thicker growth, but it may not be worth spending nearly double, depending on your shaving habits. If you shave daily and want portability, convenience, and strong value, Laifen P3 Pro becomes extremely hard to ignore. So is Braun worth paying more for? You’ll have to answer that for yourself.
I expected Braun Series 9 Pro+ to dominate this comparison.
It didn’t.
Braun still wins for people who prioritize maximum closeness and regularly shave heavier growth, but Laifen P3 Pro proved it belongs in this conversation.
It looks better, travels better, charges easier, and costs far less.
For many daily shavers, that may be the smarter purchase.
And that’s exactly why legacy brands should probably be taking notes if they don’t want to fall behind the Laifen P3 Pro.
